Open Office
I think we don't need to pay any more $$$ for the Microsoft Office Products. Sun Microsystems released Open Source Office Suite called OpenOffice. This OpenOffice is a multiplatform and multilingual office suite and an open-source project. The Main thing is it is free to download.
This OpenOffice bundle consists of
Writer - Equivalent to Microsoft Word
Impress - Equivalent to Microsoft Powerpoint
Calc - Equivalent to Microsoft Excel
Draw - Equivalent to Microsoft Visio
It also contains additional modules like Math and Base.
The important feature of these products is that after creating the document, we can right away create a pdf document directly without any hurdles.
The Open Office Documents are compatible to Microsoft documents. These open source products also avoids pirated copies.
May be Microsoft needs to change the strategy plan in handling of Open Source Applications. Otherwise, they are the ones who are going to hurt badly in the future.

Internet through Powerlines
Yesterday i was browsing through net and found an article related to providing Internet through Power Lines. The Telecom company Comtek in Manassas,VA started providing it for $28.95 per month with the 300Kbps speed. Already Google invested 100 Million Dollars for this research with Current Communications,Maryland based company, which is a competitor for Comtek.
May be Indian Government should think of using this Powerline technology for providing Internet in Rural Areas instead of going through Fibre Optical cables. Since the Infrastructure for the powerlines already exists in most places(??!!) in India, it will be easy for implementing it

Ahimsa
Every one says that India got Independence by Gandhi’s Ahimsa.
Gandhi’s Ahimsa failed when Nehru sent the Indian Military Army troops to Kashmir with the guidance of Gandhi in the First Indo-Pakistan Kashmir War held on October 1947. Ahimsa should not really be applied to a Country.
Gandhi passed away in 30 Jan 1948 and the First Indo-Pakistan war ended on 1 January 1949.
I have attached the webshot when Dr. J.W. Elder, Assistant Professor of Sociology. University of Wisconsin, Madison, U.S interviewed the Holiness Paramacharya Sri Chandrasekharendra Sarasvathi Mahaswamigal(1894-1994) of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. The below thing really makes sense for me.
Dr. Elder:
Ahimsa has sometimes been included as one of the major teachings within Hinduism. In view of the recent Chinese attack on India, what would your interpretation be of the present day application of ahimsa?
His Holiness:
I think you are basing your question on ahimsa as Gandhi interpreted it. Gandhi in turn based his belief and ideas about ahimsa on Lord Buddha.
Both of them were in my opinion failures. This is my viewpoint. When Nehru sent the Indian Army to Kashmir in 1947, he said that he was sending the army after consulting and taking instruction from Gandhi. Hence Gandhi's failure in ahimsa. There is one version of Lord Buddha's death according to which he ate pig's flesh and dies as a consequence. Most of the Buddhist monks are non-vegetarians in the Buddhist countries such as Ceylon, Burma, Malaya and China. Therefore, Buddha's ahimsa has also failed. I think the correct interpretation of ahimsa is that it is virtue applicable only to the highest asrama of the highest caste, the brahmin sanyasi. When he has renounced the world he should do no violence at all, not even pluck a leaf from a tree. If anybody beats him, he should do nothing to defend himself and he should receive them with joy But this doctrine of ahimsa is not meant to be applied to nations or the leader of the nations. Some feel that ahimsa brought India here independence. This is not actually the case. The English had their own reasons for setting India free, whether or not we had been practicing ahimsa.
According to Sastras, the rigid of ahimsa are not applicable to the Government or to the leaders. Our Sastras make it clear that a ruler who does not defend his country fails in his duty. The rules of defending the country are not only for China, but for the nation. Of course, a leader should not wage an aggressive war. Nor should he refuse to defend his country if it is attacked. If a citizen is attacked by another citizen, our Sastras make it clear that it is the duty of the Government to protect its citizen even if it means capital punishment for the offender. Further the Sastras have made it clear to what extend everybody should follow ahimsa.
Eventhough the below issue is not related to Ahimsa, even after freedom, Peoples in india are talking about their own Rights in a democratic country. The Person who is talking about the rights fails to do his Normal duty in which he should perform. In order to do the normal duty, The person is looking for bribe.

Uniqueness of GTalk
GTalk is using open standard and has the capability of connecting to other networks. Google is the first major company to accompolish that. Gizmo Project bounced back that they agreed to join the federation with Google Talk for using open standards using Jabber and SIP interchange
